After a thrilling 6th race, Brazilians Jorge Zarif and Guilherme de Almeida crowned 2018 Star World Champions!

Eivind Melleby (NOR) and Josh Revkin (USA) finish second overall follwed by Paul Cayard (USA) with crew Arthur Lopes (BRA).

Race day 6 is off to a tense and rainy start today at the Tred Avon Yacht Club. With two races left to complete the 2018 Star World Championship, the fleet is eager to hit the water. The start time for racing is 11:00 EDT (UTC -4) and Races 5 and 6 are scheduled. Our local forecast today shows a north westerly breeze at 8-10 knots and is predicted to build to 15-18 knots and the rain is expected to stop around 12:00 EDT (UTC -4).

Racing delayed until 14:00 on Race Day 5

Hurricane Michael passed over the Oxford, MD area earlier this morning leaving behind high winds and rough sea state. The start time for Race 5 of the 6 race series is postponed until 14:00 EDT (UTC -4) until the conditions out on the race course become more stable and managable. Our local forecast today shows a north westerly breeze at 18-20 knots at 14:00 EDT (UTC -5) that will slowly die down throughout the afternoon.

The forecast called for rain all day but the skies have cleared at least for now, and the fleet is happily preparing for another two race day at the 2018 Star World Championship. The Race Committee intends to start on time at 11:00 EDT (UTC -4).
